Privacy
Simple and honest. No surprises.
Your data never leaves your device
The Unwritten Weeks stores everything — your birth date, your week entries, your notes — in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. There is no account, no database, no cloud.
What data is stored
- ◎Your birth date — Used only to calculate which week you're on.
- ◎Your lifespan setting — How many years to visualize.
- ◎Week entries — Titles, highlights, moods, notes, and tags you write.
- ◎Settings — Display preferences like dot size and reflection tone.
Clearing browser data
If you clear your browser's data, cookies, or site storage, your memories will be deleted. This is not recoverable unless you have exported a backup.
Export a backup regularly. Settings → Export backup.
Share images
When you generate a share image, the image is created entirely on your device using the browser's Canvas API. By default, share images:
- ◌Do not include your exact birth date
- ◌Do not include any private notes or highlights
- ◌Do not include your daily notes or tags
- ◌Show only the visual grid, your week count, and the app name
No tracking, analytics, or ads
There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no cookies from third parties, and no advertising. This app does not know you exist.
Offline use
The Unwritten Weeks is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Once loaded, it works without an internet connection. You can add it to your home screen on mobile for app-like access.
Your data, always yours
You can export all your data at any time as a JSON file. You can import it into a different browser or device. You can delete everything with one click. We designed this so you are always in control.
